NAPRA's Pharmacists' Gateway Canada Project
The National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) is developing and will maintain a single point of access for International Pharmacy Graduates (IPGs) entitled,
Pharmacists’ Gateway Canada for international pharmacists, to obtain the information they need to become licensed to practice pharmacy in Canada. The project objectives include providing a fair, accessible, transparent, consistent and rigorous service for the registration of international pharmacy graduates and to streamline the processes on the path to licensure to ensure they are efficient, fair, transparent, consistent and rigorous. This project includes, among other things, a plain language website, new tools to help IPGs assess their preparedness and readiness to practice in Canada, a database accessible to all Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities in Canada and a communications and marketing strategy to ensure IPGs know where to find these services.

Assessing the workforce integration of internationally educated health professionals
The Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) is conducting research assessing the integration of practising immigrant health professionals in Canada. This collaborative initiative brings together groups and individuals from five different health professions: medical laboratory science, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy and medical radiation technology. The primary objective of this research is to determine, through qualitative and quantitative means, the barriers (if any) that practising, internationally educated health practitioners, including pharmacists, face in integrating into the Canadian workforce.
