Key Legislation and Policy Dates

• On March 22, 2012, the Ministry of Health announced changes to generic drug pricing reimbursement.  The Minister also announced an increase in dispensing fees, a mark-up on generic drugs, the New Brunswick PharmaCheck medication review program, a rural pharmacy incentive, and an investment to help offset costs associated with connecting to the provincial drug information system/prescription monitoring program.  Discussions are underway, and more details will be available in the coming months.  There is no known effective date yet. http://www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/news/news_release.2012.03.0226.html
