The Hospital Pharmacy in Canada Editorial Board is pleased to announce that the 18
th Hospital Pharmacy in Canada Report is now available at
www.lillyhospitalsurvey.ca.
This year 160 facilities, representing 69,814 beds, provided data for the Report on their operations in the 2009/10 fiscal year. Subsets of the data are presented on a wide range of topics that allow comparisons based on hospital size (50 to 200 beds, 201 to 500 beds, and >500 beds), and academic designation (teaching versus non-teaching).
The report includes a special adult and pediatrics benchmarking section that compares a variety of metrics differing clinical programs as well as a special chapter on CSHP 2015, a quality initiative of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists. New sections have been incorporated which focus on pharmacy technicians, evaluation of pharmacy services and current topics. Another enhancement in this year’s report is the addition of “highlights to emphasize points of interest within each section.
The report is written by an independent editorial board made up of Hospital Pharmacy Directors and senior hospital administrators drawn from all regions of the country. The data generated by this biannual survey provides the most comprehensive comparative information that is available to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of pharmacy services in Canadian Hospitals. It also provides very useful information on new trends that are emerging in the practice of hospital pharmacy.
The Hospital Pharmacy in Canada Report represents the most comprehensive overview of the Canadian hospital pharmacy sector. We trust its readers will benefit from its information and analysis.
